Rolling Eggs and Living in the Moment
Quote of the Month:
Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.
~Brene’ Brown
April went by literally so fast! I actually created more artwork than I documented and photographed this month. I have been doing more ceramics and loving getting back into it. Those photos will come later. There is still plenty to share and document for one of the fasted months ever! Let’s go!
Did you like my clothesline digital drawing? I had big visions of the fabric blowing in the wind for an animation, but it seemed to be a bit more challenging and I settled for a rolling egg for times sake.
I have really been enjoying creating digital sketchbooks. I don’t want to overthink, so I try to draw quickly and let it flow not getting too lost in what digital brush to use. Some pages are easier than others. Having the cover so it feels like a real book gets me excited! I created that too!
Artist Trading Cards
I love making artists trading cards! If you are not familiar, they are simply small works of art sized 3.5 x 2.5 inches. It can be a great way to make a series of work. I love taking one idea and stretching it, pulling and pushing and trying to get all the possibilities out of it. I just recently created these 3 cards. My theme was trying to create a mosaic from paper. So, using what I already had available, I began to cut and just place them down. Possibilities are endless with just this one idea! Love that!
Clay Ideas
As I stated above, I have been doing more clay works but did not take the time to photograph. Instead, here is a digital drawing of some platter ideas I have been trying to create in clay. Stay tuned to see the real things hopefully next month! I have been playing with a scalloped edge, quickly brushed color and speckles on the surface!
From Easter celebrations to seascapes to grids of dots and batiks - I am having a ton of fun creating my weekly designs.
A month can’t go by without sharing my cards I send to my grandparents. Some digital, some traditionally made. All created with love.
As we close down April and enter into an even faster month - May, I hope you are finding small moments of joy each and every day. Life is happening at a rapid pace, and I am here for all the moments looking through a creative lens. In a month from now, I will have 2 daughters graduating, one from college and one from high school. I am soaking up all the small moments and keeping them close to my heart.
Stay creative out there~
