The Last Card

Quote of the Month:

all big things come from small beginnings.

~James Clear

Well, June 2026 is here and almost gone. So many events have happened over the last 3-4 weeks, it has been a wild ride both for me personally and for our family. I cannot begin to tell you how I managed it all, but we got through this crazy, exciting and sad time by putting one foot in front of the other. Here is a breakdown of our crazy busy life and happenings:

Grandma’s Initials

My maternal grandmother passed on June 2nd. In my own way of grieving I took her initials and little flower drawings my aunt got her to draw a few years ago into a digital design for a very special screenshot Saturday.

I was reminded at her funeral that everyone locally knows those initials because of all the cake plates and containers she has shared over most of her life. Grandma Evie was known for her delicious cakes!

Cards galore this month! Lots of thank you cards for my girls to use, birthday cards and a few Father’s day cards too! My own cards and of course cards sent to my grandparents.

The last card… never opened

After 8 years of sending weekly cards to my maternal grandmother, her last card was never opened. Grandma passed before opening this card. I am not sure why, but I wanted to acknowledge this here and keep the memory that we both enjoyed this special connection of these cards over several years.

I am fortunate to still have my paternal grandfather, so I will keep creating and sending him cards every week!

My postcard I created of our recent trip to Wyoming! I love mixing photos and drawings.

Here is just a snippet of all the happenings this month. I have so much more to share…maybe I should start blogging twice a month? That’s okay…we knew 2026 would be a full year. If you see me around town and I have a dazed look, now you know all the things happening at once. Hugs to everyone and thank you for all the support, prayers, and well wishes. Through it all I did a little creative work too!

Stay creative out there~
