New Beginnings
quote of the month:
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”
~Seneca
We moved this month after 17 years in the same home. It has been a month full of all the feelings and emotions that come with the changes we have made and embracing this new chapter of our lives. I felt this quote was perfect for this month and our new beginning.
As you can imagine, I did not create as much as I normally do in a month’s time, but I got a few little things done.
Below are a few cards I made this month.
The creativity did go in a slightly different direction! I had my family do pumpkin carvings and it was a blast! And I did not think about this until later, but it helped us to start making new memories in our new home, which my heart needed. We all worked in teams and what a fun night!
Fall Pompom
After living out of boxes and everything is disarray from our move, my art making felt uninspired. My clay area was not set up and honestly, I was not feeling a clay project. So, I turned to scrolling through Instagram and found this cute video (Nadiasews) that was the right kind of creativity and play I was looking for. This is a pic of my first one fall themed pompom from scrap fabrics.
Check out my fall garland where I included smaller fabric pompoms below.
Pinecone and Pompom Garland
Using pinecones from my grandparents yard, tulle, yarn, fall pompoms I recently made to create this fun simple garland.
Halloween Party Fun
When I was a kid, we would trick or treat and go to my parents’ friend’s home for hot dogs, snacks and these amazing Rice Krispie treats Ms. Lynn made. It is a core childhood memory for me.
Well tonight after a few decades, I tried recreating this party for a few of my nieces, family and friends. We had a fun and cute Halloween party! Ms. Lynn brought her Rice Krispie treats too! So fun to host in our new home and decorate!
Check out the pictures below.

Then I made a little food art with my oldest! Ghost dogs, witches cheese brooms, and spider Oreos.
Fun time!
As I reflect, I was able to make a few things after all this month. Such an incredible time as we adjust to all things new and find our new rhythm here. It is coming, I know it. One thing I have realized is to be kind to yourself through big new changes. I just feel like my heart needs to change up to my head.
No matter what, stay creative out there~
